BUSHEY MILL RESOURCE CENTRE

Opened in 2011 by owner Bernie Cochrane and as of 2020 currently opens its centre based service on Monday and Thursday 10.00am - 3.00pm.

We recently started a Tuesday activity session, this is a non centre based service and involves a smaller group going on longer day trips to exciting places and is loved by our more adventurous users.

BMRC has exclusive access to a farm where we grow vegetables, have chickens, a rabbit to cuddle, two horses who love being groomed, and from time to time both at the centre and the farm two gorgeous extremely friendly dogs pop will in who love to be stroked and pampered.

BMRC has its own two minibuses both with Blue Badges and these in addition to general centre use pick up and drop of service users from home or place of residence subject to distance.

Many of our activities have been suggested by our service users.We like to encourage everyone to feel that they have a voice and choice in what they would like to do.

We have six very experienced staff members one who is a social worker.

BMRC is based in Trinity Church in Bushey Mill Lane. Facilities include a large hall. A quiet room for watching films and a chance to chill out, a reception area for social chats, greetings and morning tea, juice, coffee and biscuits, a kitchen area that we use for teaching cooking skills for those interested and an outside grassed area with shade. Whilst we have great indoor facilities we do, weather permitting, like to go out as often as possible
